Mission
The mission of the International Journal of Doctoral Studies (IJDS) is to provide readers worldwide with
high quality peer-reviewed scholarly articles on a wide variety of issues in doctoral studies using the
Informing Science
(IS) framework. The editorial objective of IJDS is the facilitation of knowledge
enhancement related to doctoral studies in areas such as (but not limited to): informing science,
information systems, information technology, information science, decision
science, information
security, and IT education.
IJDS especially encourages publications authored by faculty
members who actively supervise doctoral students. Joint publications
between faculty members and their doctoral students are also
encouraged.
IJDS is an interdisciplinary forum that publishes high quality articles on theory, practice, innovation, and research that cover all aspects of doctoral studies. Book reviews are also welcome. Authors may use
body of knowledge from
business, information systems, decision science, computer science, education, psychology,
engineering, anthropology, and such. Papers that essentially cover "teaching tips",
"best practices" or unstructured anecdotal data are not considered for publication. IJDS provides those who submit manuscripts for publication with useful, timely feedback by making the review process constructive. IJDS will strive to be the most authoritative journal on doctoral studies.
Prior to submission, it is essential that prospective authors will
carefully learn more about the IS discipline by perusing the paper by
Cohen (1999).
